Development Executive Joins Spark National Team

Spark Welcomes Jane Walsh, Managing Director of Development & Partnerships

Spark is pleased to welcome its new Managing Director of Development and Partnerships, Jane Walsh, to it's National Team.

Walsh joins Spark’s national team to lead individual and foundation fundraising, as well as corporate partnerships.  Her leadership, management skills and enthusiasm for education make this an ideal opportunity to grow the funding base that supports Spark’s work preparing middle schoolers for success in high school and beyond.

“Jane brings more than 20 years of fundraising experience to Spark’s national and regional teams,” said Jason Cascarino, Chief Executive Officer of Spark. “Her track record for establishing successful fundraising and corporate relations programs for growing nonprofits is exemplary.”

Walsh most recently worked as the Vice President of Development for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) where she was as a lead member of the Headquarters Development team, grew the annual fundraising program to $14 million since 1998, secured the largest grant in the organization’s history and designed and executed the organization’s first Major Gifts program. Along with her professional work in nonprofits, she has attended the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year conference in Monte Carlo, is on the Board of Directors for The Baby Fold and is a published co-author in Educational Leadership magazine. Walsh has also worked as an associate for Caesar & Washburn, Inc. and as the Special Projects Coordinator for Project Lazarus.

“I’ve dedicated my career to nonprofit fundraising and am thrilled to apply my expertise to a program that’s blazing a truly unique trail in education,” said Walsh. “Through my children and my own experiences I understand the value of mentoring and need for additional support during the middle school years.  I look forward to sharing this value and the program’s impact with new and existing investors and partners.”

Walsh earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Marquette University. She currently resides in Normal, Illinois.
